About Daisha

Emerging American soprano Daisha Togawa is quickly gaining attention on the competition circuit, receiving an Encouragement Award at the CO/WY Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, winning a Certificate of Merit at the Denver Lyric Opera Guild competition, and being named a finalist in the Opera Ithaca competition. Ms. Togawa is a member of the inaugural class of YAAClassical: Voice. Her favorite operatic roles include: Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart’s The Impresario, Amy from Mark Adamo’s Little Women, and Ännchen in Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz.

Skilled in a variety of repertoire, Ms. Togawa's musical theatre roles include Matron “Mama” Morton from Kander and Ebb’s Chicago and Marta from Sondheim’s Company. Ms. Togawa is a recent graduate of the University of Northern Colorado where she received her Master of Music in Voice Performance. Ms. Togawa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Kentucky. She lives in Alexandria, VA and currently studies voice with mezzo-soprano Delores Ziegler.
